Re-set and Re-balance Yin Yoga and Gong Bath healing workshops: 26 April / 7 June / 2 Nov

Healing yin yoga and gong bath workshops to harmonise the energies and elements within your body.

Sandy Lau will begin with a collective sound scan which uses specific frequencies and vibrations from the voice to promote well-being and address imbalances in the body and mind. We’ll then move to a challenging but meditative yin yoga, where poses are held for extended periods, to target the connective tissues in the body, meridians (energy channels), associated organs and chakras (energy centres), to release deeply held physical and emotional tension and unblock stagnant energy. During the yoga practice, Tibetan singing bowls will be placed on your body or tuning forks used on your bones to deepen your healing experience. Finally, lying down to surrender to the resonant vibrations of the ancient gong, this will help to promote deep relaxation, reduce stress and increase your sense of inner peace.

Each workshop will have a particular focus aligning with different chakras or energy centres in the body. A profoundly powerful way to re-set and re-balance in a small group setting.

Sat 26 April, 10.30am-1.30pm – to strengthen our Solar Plexus Chakra, reclaiming our sovereignty by using our will power to break out of old patterns and align with our soul’s true purpose.

Sat 7 June, 2-5pm – focus is on the Heart Chakra to manifest the intentions of joy and abundance through the seamless and transparent connection between the heart and mind.

Sun 2 November, 1-4pm – focus is on the Throat Chakra (expression) and the Third Eye Chakra (vision and intuition) to enable the manifestation of our truest and deepest yearnings.

Yogabliss Asana Labs: 18 May / 13 Jul / 14 Sept / 23 Nov

A series of 4 workshops on Sunday mornings to unpack and deep dive into energising twists, heart opening backbends, centring balances and calming forward bends. Each 2 hour workshop will breakdown common yoga asana postures with an exploration of the physical and energetic benefits, giving you a chance to work slowly and deeply into the pose in a light hearted way. Every workshop will include meditation, pranayam (breathwork), dynamic strength building hatha yoga postures as well as longer held yin postures, yoga philosophy, a long relaxation and chai and chat afterwards

Sun 18 May: Energising twists for back health. Twists help us to rotate the spine and stretch the muscles of the back restoring the spine’s natural range of motion. Through a series of twists, we will lengthen the torso along the spine, allowing our energy to flow more easily giving us an energy boost and spring in our step while we safely decompress the vertebrae.

Sun 13 July: Centring balances to enhance focus and resilience. Balancing postures improve core strength, tone connective tissue and build stability in the joints. Through a combination of floor and standing balances, we will ground towards the earth and lengthen towards the summer sun, improving spatial awareness, as well as our mental and emotional focus and steadiness. 

Sun 14 Sept: Heart Opening Backbends for improved breath. Backbends open the chest and shoulders promoting better posture, circulation and respiratory function, particularly important given our tendency to slouch over devices. As well as strengthening the spine, improving flexibility and mobility, backbends improve focus, relieve restlessness and open our heart to new possibilities as we move towards the cooler winds of autumn.

Sun 23 Nov: Calming forward bends to relieve stress and tension. Forward bends lengthen and create space in the spine and improve mobility in the hips. As we move towards the quiet stillness of winter, the inward nature of these postures encourage introspection, taking stock and a deeper connection between body and mind.

Whether you’re a curious beginner to yoga, a more practiced yogi/ni wanting a refresh, or you just want more space for questions and assists, this workshop is for you. Refine your practice by expanding your understanding of common postures and improve your overall yoga experience.  Join for a workshop or 2 or even the full course!
