Return to your Centre – a quieting yin yoga practice in preparation for the long, dark days of winter
This nourishing workshop will draw from ancient Chinese 5 element theory and specifically the Water Element, which is prevalent in winter. We will begin with gentle guided meditation to settle the body. Then, yin yoga postures held for several minutes will target the deep fascia network in the body, helping us slow down and stay present. Postures will strengthen the Kidney and Bladder energy channels, associated with the Water Element, as we practice stillness and conservation to relieve fatigue, reduce stress and ease fear and anxiety.

Finding balance and wisdom at the Spring Equinox – a yin and sound workshop, ZenYoga studio, Sun 23 March, 2-4pm
Join us for a transformative yin yoga and healing sound bath workshop to find balance and wisdom as the season shifts to spring. Using a yin yoga practice, we will access the deep layers of the body to release tension and unblock stagnant energy in the connective tissue and ligaments and help to restore balance to the energy or meridian channels of the body. Targeting the Liver and Gall Bladder meridian lines helps re-balance the emotions of anger and frustration and increases our ability to make wise decisions. An immersive gong sound bath for the duration of the workshop will help you reach deeper levels of relaxation and surrender in the postures. By moving slowly, staying in each pose for a long time and placing attention on our breath, the mind also slows down and comes closer to stillness and clarity.
